Germanium dioxide, in the molecular formula GeO2, is the Germanium oxide, in an electronic form similar to carbon dioxide. It is white powder or colorless crystal. Mainly used in the production of metal germanium, also used for spectral analysis and semiconductor materials.It is used in the production of optical fiber, infrared glass, phosphor, pharmaceutical immunity, PET catalyst, organic germanium, germanane and other materials.

Application:
1. Used for germanium, also used in the electronics industry. Used as semiconductor material. It is prepared by heating oxidation of germanium or hydrolysis of germanium tetrachloride.

2. Used as raw material for the preparation of metallic germanium and other germanium compounds, as catalyst for the preparation of polyethylene terephthalate resin, as well as as spectroscopic analysis and semiconductor materials. It can produce optical glass phosphors and be used as catalyst for petroleum conversion, dehydrogenation, adjustment of gasoline fractions, color film and polyester fiber production.
